Stays between now and December 18th with Starwood hotels (minus a bunch of opt-outs) will get you triple StarPoints (maybe). You must register prior to your stay or by November 15th to participate in the promotion.
I made a hotel reservation today for a conference in Atlanta at the Westin Peachtree Plaza forgetting to read up on the giant list of opt outs, and after reading The Points Guy warning today was pleased to find out this particular Westin is participating. For my Washington, D.C. stay I’ll be choosing another hotel chain due to the opt out at the Westin City Center. Having stayed at Hilton hotels almost exclusively for some time I was surprised by the large link that gives a very clear pop-up with the opt-out hotels. I’ve had to scavenge in the past to find out some very common Hiltons were excluded from promotions, such as the Hilton Anatole in Dallas not participating in the double points/miles Q3 promo.
But my skepticism returns. Triple points is a generous description of this promotion since it’s really double points on stays with the potential to receive triple points if your stay includes a Thursday or Sunday night. Mine doesn’t include those nights, so I’m only receiving the double points for this particular stay.
Sign up if you haven’t already and try to include a Thursday or Sunday if your dates are flexible.
